The Hacienda S/W Women’s Club will meet on Tuesday, May 8th at 9:30 a.m. in the Ricardo Montalban Room at the La Hacienda Center.  Come early for sign-ups, refreshments & the White Elephant Table.  Our Speaker will be from Hands of Mercy Everywhere, a Christian Home for Teen Mothers and their Babies.  At our June meeting we will be having a “Baby Shower” to help with their needs.

If anyone needs a ride to our meetings please let any member of the Board know and we will find one for you.

Kathy Hempel has asked me to share the following information with our members.  The next honor flight is going to Washington, D.C. on May 23rdand Jim Cobbs with be with them.  Something new has been added and they will be doing a surprise “Mail Call” for all the attendees.  Please write a little note to Jim thanking him for his service and any other thoughts you would like to include.  There will be a box on the Officer’s Table at the Meeting to collect all the notes and I will deliver them to Kathy.

THE WHITE ELEPHANT TABLE will be set-up before our meeting.   Members are asked to bring 1 or 2 items for the table.  The items should be new or slightly used and you must mark the price on each item.  Before you leave the building please check the table and take home any item you brought that did not sell.  All proceeds will go to the General Fund.  The table will be open for one-half hour before and after the meeting.

Our new website is progressing very nicely thanks to Evelyn Krawczyk.  The website address is www.hswwclub.com – please take the time to browse our site.  You will find so much information there.

Dues ($10.00) were payable January 1stand are now past due.  Please pay at the May Meeting or mail to Phyllis Davis, 942 Ramos Drive, The Villages, FL 32159. If it is inconvenient for you to mail your check just let Phyllis or I know and we will be happy to pick it up.

Luncheon at The Spice & Tea Exchange:  Tuesday, May 29th at 12 noon – 3638 Kiessel Rd. in Brownwood -  $15.00/person.  Menu: a veggie dip and a southwest dip with Tortilla Chips, a Mexican adobo salad (this is a hearty green salad with rice and beans and veggies), chipotle pork street soft shell tacos and for dessert Chocolate Cream fondue with pound cake/fruit and fruit dip with fresh fruit as well as tea & water.  Space is limited to 24 people so the first 24 to sign-up will go.  If you cannot attend the meeting contact Jill Buckley @ 317-910-7101 or buckleygang@gmail.comor Stephanie Littlefield  @ 633-5719 or stephielittlefield@comcast.netto sign up.

Lakeridge Winery Event:  Sunday, June 10th– 12:00-4:00 p.m. – Admission $10.00/person.  Includes wine tour and tasting, live music (usually jazz or blues) on their outdoor stage under majestic oak trees with views of the vineyards.  Inside a wine & cheese bar with live music, gift shop with wine, wine accessories, gourmet foods & more.  Participation in Wine Stomping for additional fun – Arts & Crafts Show with a wide variety of the area’s artisans. Bring folding lawn chairs.  Beer, wine, sodas along with several food vendors are available but coolers with drinks, snacks & food are allowed.  Golf cart transport with your chairs & coolers from the parking area to entrance and return to cars is available.  (Event cancelled in case of rain).  A relaxing and fun Sunday afternoon.  Contact:  Charlotte Amante @ 954-547-3747 or fancy514@yahoo.com

Neighborhood Garage Sale:  Saturday, June 30th– 8 a.m. – 1 p.m.  Locations: 1018 Soledad Way (Karen Thorson) and 1114 San Antonio Lane (Joan West). There will be a sign up sheet at the May 8thmeeting to determine who will be donating items.  We will also need workers for set-up on Thursday, June 28 and Friday, June 29thand for sales assistance on Saturday, June 30th. . .  Let us know how youcan help yourClub!!  We would appreciate it if donated items be priced and delivered between June 20-27th.  Many thanks Karen & Joan.

Ladies Night Out: Mid-July – Marie Rose Fine Consignments – Baylee Plaza. “We are an upscale ladies consignment shop carrying top brand clothing, purses, jewelry and accessories.  Join us for private shopping with friends, music, refreshments, discounts and giveaways.”  Pat Lowe will be taking sign-ups at our May & June meetings.  If you haven’t been before just ask the gals that have enjoyed this year after year. It you cannot make the meeting call Pat at 633-1585 to make your reservation.
