The Hacienda S/W Women’s Club will meet on Tuesday, April 10th at 9:30 a.m. in the Ricardo Montalban Room at the La Hacienda Center.  Come early for sign-ups, refreshments & the White Elephant Table.  Our Speaker will be Sue Ann Baker who was one of the first 5 women to be accepted into the Secret Service.

THE WHITE ELEPHANT TABLE will be set-up before our meeting.   Members are asked to bring 1 or 2 items for the table.  The items should be new or slightly used and you must mark the price on each item.  Before you leave the building please check the table and take home any item you brought that did not sell.  All proceeds will go to the General Fund.  The table will be open for one-half hour before and after the meeting.

Our new website is progressing very nicely thanks to Evelyn Krawczyk.  The website address is www.hswwclub.com – please take the time to browse our site.  You will find so much information there.

Dues ($10.00) were payable January 1stand are now past due.   Please pay at the April Meeting or mail to Phyllis Davis, 942 Ramos Drive, The Villages, FL 32159.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Ringling Museums, Mansion & Gardens:  Tuesday, April 17th– Departs Lowes (near Bealls) on 441/27 at 8 a.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m (note change in pick-up location).  If you have questions contact Joanne Phinney @ 750-9193 or joannephinney@embarqmail.com.  RESERVATIONS CLOSED.

Sunset Point: Friday, April 27th@ 7 p.m. BYOB, a snack to share(small portion) and chairs, if you need them.  The Club will provide fruit, cheese & crackers.  The park is the grassy area on the right just before crossing the Sumter Landing Bridge.  GOLF CARTS ONLY.

Kentucky Derby: Saturday, May 5th@ The Villages Polo Field – Event benefits the Florida Sheriff’s Youth Ranches – Admission $35.00/person and includes:  Dinner, Viewing of the Kentucky Derby, One entry into the Grand Prize Drawing, One Mint Julep, Cash Bar, Live Auction, 50/50, Silent Auction & Hat Contest.  Contact Joan Beeman @217-529-9047 or joanbeeman48@gmail.com.   Technically, sign-ups closed on March 13th.  However, if you should decide you want to attend or purchase your tickets at the Box Office please let Joan know if you would like to sit with the HSW Group.

Hat Making Party: For the Ladies attending the Kentucky Derby there will be a Hat Making Party at Joan Beeman’s on Monday, April 16th@ 6:30 p.m.  Bring a hat, feathers and ribbon or whatever you want on your hat.

Luncheon at The Spice & Tea Exchange:  Tuesday, May 29that 12 noon – 3638 Kiessel Rd. in Brownwood - $15.00/person payable at the door. Menu:  a veggie dip and a southwest dip with Tortilla Chips, a Mexican adobo salad (this is a hearty green salad with rice and beans and veggies), chipotle pork street soft shell tacos and for dessert Chocolate Cream fondue with pound cake/fruit and fruit dip with fresh fruit as well as tea & water.  Space is limited to 24 people so the first 24 to sign-up will go.  If you cannot attend the meeting contact Jill Buckley @ 317-910-7101 or buckleygang@gmail.comor Stephanie Littlefield  @ 633-5719 or stephielittlefield@comcast.netto sign up.

Lakeridge Winery Event:  Sunday, June 10th– 12:00-4:00 p.m. – Admission $10.00/person.  Includes wine tour and tasting, live music (usually jazz or blues) on their outdoor stage under majestic oak trees with views of the vineyards.  Inside a wine & cheese bar with live music, gift shop with wine, wine accessories, gourmet foods & more.  Participation in Wine Stomping for additional fun – Arts & Crafts Show with a wide variety of the area’s artisans.

Bring folding lawn chairs.  Beer, wine, sodas along with several food vendors are available but coolers with drinks, snacks & food are allowed.  Golf cart transport with your chairs & coolers from the parking area to entrance and return to cars is available.  (Event cancelled in case of rain).  A relaxing and fun Sunday afternoon.  Contact:  Charlotte Amante @ 954-547-3747 or fancy514@yahoo.com
