Due to Covid infection the HSWWC will not meet during the month of March. We are hoping that by April more people will be able to get vaccinated and the infection rate will have dropped. We are tentatively scheduling our next meeting for April 13th.
The Social Committee met in February. Please view their report on the club’s website and note the events planned for the upcoming year.
Upcoming Event: Our first event will be on Tuesday, March 16th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. It will be held at the Paradise Bocce Pavilion located on the historic side across from Paradise Recreation Center. Joan Beeman will be demonstrating rock painting which will include participation by those attending. Please sign up by March 13th. Call Joan at 217-529-9047 or e-mail her at joanbeeman48@gmail.com. A flyer with the details of our April Luncheon will be e-mailed as soon as plans are finalized.
The Charity Committee has submitted the Christian Food Pantry for the first donation of 2021. “It is a supplemental grocery program for local families in need and was able to help over 300 families a month in 2020, along with providing 111 children from The Villages Elementary School with snack/meal packs each week. The Women’s Club donation will go towards their weekend meals for elementary school kids who may be facing a food shortage.” The Charity Committee is planning on visiting the Pantry on Wednesday, March 31, 2021 at 11 a.m. If any Women’s Club member would like to visit the pantry with the committee please contact Kelly @828-557-8805 or kellymiller72@gmail.com or Connie @ 224-688-0029 or conniewietrzak@yahoo.com .
